What happens when Green Growth and De-Growth get matched on a green dating app, and go on their first date? They’re both keen on sustainability and seem to have so much in common, what could possibly go wrong? Find out in ‘Swipe Right for Sustainability’.
Comedy in the Classroom is a new and exciting teaching method which brings theoretical debates and complex concepts to life – using semi-improvised comedy sketches, and representing concepts in characters. It’s a fascinating way to engage students and promote learning, using performing arts pedagogies for active learning.
We’ve been developing the method here at UEA, and it’s growing and catching on across UEA and further afield. There’s a wide range of ways to apply the method – from full-on lecturers performing, to follow-up student role-play activities, to 10-minute classroom exercises – all of which are geared towards helping students grasp key concepts in a subject.
We’ve made some films of our performances and there’s a keynote presentation which explain the rationale, impacts, how-tos and challenges of this approach – we would love to get your feedback from the wider SCORAI community, and we’d love to know if you’ve been inspired to try something similar, or use our films in your own teaching.
