Date: July 2025 | Location: Olomouc, Czech Republic
We are delighted to share an exciting opportunity for students and young researchers interested in the intersection of EU consumer law and sustainability: the Summer School on Sustainability and Consumer Protection in the EU, hosted by the Department of Private Law at Palacký University Olomouc.
What to Expect
This year’s programme focuses on some of the most pressing legal and policy challenges in sustainable consumption, including:
- Digital overconsumption and its regulatory implications
- Greenwashing – examining the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (UCPD) and dark patterns
- Product repair rights and passenger rights
- Theoretical debates on degrowth and sustainable consumption
Participants will have the opportunity to analyse regulatory enforcement mechanisms, critically assess corporate sustainability claims, and propose solutions to contemporary legal challenges. The programme culminates in a moot court simulation, allowing students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the five days in a practical setting.
Beyond the academic curriculum, the summer school is complemented by an intercultural welcome dinner and a rafting excursion – making it a rich experience both intellectually and socially.
