On behalf of the GLAMURS project team, it is my pleasure to invite you to the Final Conference of our GLAMURS Project that will be held in Brussels, at the Diamant Centre, November 30th & December 1st 2016. We would be very happy if you could join us for the final conference and contribute to the discussions of our final results in the context of a new research agenda.
The interdisciplinary fp7 project GLAMURS explores the complex interactions among economic, social, cultural and political factors influencing sustainable lifestyles and transformations towards a green economy. GLAMURS developed comprehensive models for facilitating sustainable lifestyles with clear policy recommendations. We combined methods from social and environmental sciences, including psychology, sociology, micro- and macro-economics and agent-based modeling and connected to several European sustainable lifestyle initiatives in order to achieve knowledge co-production across researchers, stakeholders and policy makers. We are now finalizing the project and preparing the final conference for disseminating the project results.
We organize the conference as a two day event:
- The first day will focus on knowledge co-production, practitioner-oriented sessions and networking across green lifestyle initiatives.
- For the second day we plan discussions about the state-of-the art research on sustainable lifestyles and transitions to a green economy with policy-makers, business stakeholders and researchers from other projects. Here we count on the presence of inspiring keynote speakers who are active in both research and practice.
Professor Tim Kasser, a frontrunner in research on intrinsic aspirations, time affluence and their relationships to wellbeing and ecological behavior has already confirmed his participation and keynote address. Besides the keynotes, we have confirmed the presence of high-level European Parliament members, EU and different national policy-makers, and researchers coming from other European projects of relevance for the themes of GLAMURS. Around one hundred participants have already confirmed their attendance. The overarching objective is to present and debate state-of-the-art research on how to promote transitions to sustainable lifestyles and a green economy in Europe, from integrated and multi-disciplinary perspectives, and unlocking mechanisms for sustainable transformations at different scales: Integrated approaches to sustainable lifestyles; a time-use and wellbeing perspective on the uptake and diffusion of such lifestyles; policy and practitioner recommendations for transitions to a green economy.
We very much hope that we can count on your presence in Brussels. For more information about attendance, please contact our Project Manager, Marta Alvarez.
