Anh Thu Nguyen

Associate Professor Marketing at Mount Royal University

Dr. Anh Thu Nguyen is an accomplished marketing scholar and educator with more than two decades of experience in higher education across Australia, Vietnam, and Canada. Her work brings together marketing, sustainability, consumer behaviour, and experiential learning, with a particular focus on sustainability education, sustainable consumption, marketing education, value co-creation, and innovative approaches to connecting students with real-world business challenges.

Dr. Nguyen is an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Bissett School of Business, Mount Royal University (MRU), and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE), UK—an internationally recognised distinction for leadership and contribution to teaching and learning in higher education. Prior to joining MRU in 2022, she spent more than 20 years at RMIT University Vietnam, where she held senior academic and leadership positions in Marketing and Digital Marketing, including Business Discipline Head and Acting Digital Marketing Discipline Lead.

Dr. Nguyen’s research examines how marketing and business education can contribute to more sustainable consumption and social change. Her research interests include sustainability education, sustainable consumption, marketing education, experiential learning, value co-creation, consumer behaviour, and eco-friendly packaging. Her work has been published in journals including Journal of Cleaner Production, Environmental Education Research, International Journal of Management Education, Environmental Challenges, and Cleaner and Responsible Consumption, and she regularly presents her research at national and international peer-reviewed conferences.

Her extensive industry and business experience has enabled her to develop strong relationships with national and international organisations and integrate these relationships into authentic, industry-engaged learning. Her teaching collaborations and projects have involved organisations including FrieslandCampina, Nestlé, Unilever, L’Oréal, Lazada, Pizza 4P’s, Victoria Hotels and Resorts, and IKEA. She has also coached students competing in national and international competitions, including the L’Oréal Brandstorm and the Hult Prize.

Her teaching innovation has been recognised through the RMIT University Global Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education’s Award for Teaching Innovation (2018) and the RMIT Vietnam Award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (2016), alongside multiple RMIT University Outstanding Faculty Member recognitions. At MRU, she continues to contribute to teaching innovation, curriculum development, experiential learning, sustainability education, and faculty development. She also serves on the Executive Board of SCORAI-Global and as an elected member of MRU’s General Faculties Council.
